A quarter of Indian tech services companies have now successfully moved their Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects from testing phases into live, real-world use, marking a big step for India's position in the global AI landscape. This shift from 'AI experiments' to 'AI in production' highlights the growing maturity of India's tech sector, which is already pulling in $10-12 billion in AI revenue. This important update comes from Nasscom, India's main tech industry body. The stakes are high, with Nasscom pointing out that Agentic AI alone could open up a huge new market of $300-400 billion for tech services by 2030. India's tech workforce is ready, with over 2 million professionals already skilled in AI, and up to 200,000 having advanced AI training. However, turning these AI ideas into smoothly running business tools isn't easy, as firms face challenges like making sure their 'data readiness' is good and setting up strong 'data governance' rules. Looking ahead, the focus for Indian 'tech services firms' will be on overcoming these hurdles, including careful 'workflow redesign' and 'secure deployment' of AI systems. Leaders from the 'Nasscom US CEO Forum' emphasized that AI will not reduce jobs but instead create new opportunities in areas like AI management and cybersecurity. This move is crucial for India to become a major AI innovation hub and keep its edge in the global 'digital transformation' race.
