Applied Biologics has announced exciting new data for its XWRAP® treatment, showing it significantly improves the healing of stubborn diabetic foot ulcers. Updated results from the 222-patient CAMPX clinical trial reveal that patients using XWRAP along with standard care achieved much higher rates of complete wound closure, offering a real glimmer of hope for a condition that often leads to severe complications. These positive findings are now officially accepted for presentation at the important Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Fall 2026. Diabetic foot ulcers are a major global health challenge, frequently resulting in hospital stays and even amputations for those with diabetes, as current standard treatments often fall short. Applied Biologics' product, XWRAP, is a special type of 'biologic' made from amniotic membrane, designed to protect the wound and help the body repair itself. The study found that 30.9% of patients treated with XWRAP and standard care saw their ulcers completely close within 12 weeks, compared to just 17.5% with standard care alone – a 'statistically significant' improvement that doctors will certainly notice. The presentation at SAWC Fall 2026, scheduled for October 15-18 in Las Vegas, will put these promising results in front of a wide audience of wound care experts. This announcement follows other recent positive news from Applied Biologics, including the completion of clinical trial enrollment in June 2026 and ongoing translational research into how XWRAP actually works to help wounds heal. The company is also working on other biologic therapies, showing a broader commitment to regenerative medicine. Doctors and patients alike will be watching closely to see how these results translate into wider availability and improved lives.
