Cricket fans are buzzing as the highly anticipated India U19 versus Pakistan U19 clash is officially set for November 8, 2026, in Oman, as part of the U19 Asia Cup. This continental youth tournament will not only rekindle one of sports' fiercest rivalries but is also expected to feature the sons of Indian cricketing legends Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid in action. The Asian Cricket Council announced the tournament schedule yesterday, confirming the high-voltage group stage encounter at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground 1 in Al Amerat. This upcoming match holds significant weight, with Pakistan entering the U19 Asia Cup as defending champions, having defeated India in the 2025 final. However, India holds the record for most U19 Asia Cup titles, and they had their revenge by knocking Pakistan out of the 2026 U19 World Cup earlier this year. Rahul Dravid elder son, Samit Dravid, an all-rounder, recently made the India U19 squad for a series against Australia, while his younger son, Anvay Dravid, a wicketkeeper-batter, also featured prominently in earlier U19 tours. Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag son, Aaryavir Sehwag, a top-order batter, was part of India's U19 squad against Australia in August and has just been named captain of Delhi's U19 team for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, adding another layer of excitement to the upcoming continental showpiece. The U19 Asia Cup, played in a 50-over format, will run from November 5 to 14, featuring eight teams divided into two groups, with India and Pakistan placed in Group A alongside the UAE and Nepal. India is set to open its campaign against Nepal on November 6 before facing Pakistan two days later. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, aiming for the final on November 14. This tournament offers a crucial platform for these young talents to prove their mettle on a big stage, with all eyes on whether the legendary legacies continue to shine.
