Sanjay Gupta, Editor-in-Chief of the prominent Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, recently lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at its annual Vijayadashami Utsav in Nagpur, crediting the organization with safeguarding Hindu values and shaping India's national character. His strong endorsement highlighted the RSS 101-year journey and its foundational role in the success of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gupta asserted that without the RSS, India's inherent 'Hindutva' and unique way of life might have vanished after centuries of foreign rule, directly refuting accusations of 'Hindu extremism'. He emphasized the Sangh's historical objective of uniting Hindu society, a vision that ultimately inspired the creation of the Jana Sangh, the ideological forerunner to today's BJP. Concurrently, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, also speaking at the event, cautioned against what he described as a 'storm from the West' and politically motivated agitations aimed at regime change, urging national unity and stability. Looking ahead, Gupta underlined the RSS ongoing commitment to social transformation through initiatives like expanding its presence to every village and promoting civic responsibility. He stressed that while India progresses economically, true national prosperity also demands citizens' morality, duty, and discipline, areas where institutions like the RSS play a crucial role, in contrast to political parties often driven by 'vote-bank politics'. This philosophy, he noted, is deeply embedded in Dainik Jagran own editorial policy, aiming to inspire national commitment among its readers.
