The highly anticipated results for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 have been officially declared on June 29, 2026, marking a pivotal moment for thousands of science aspirants across India. Students can now access and download their IAT 2026 scorecards from the official IISER Admission Portal, iiseradmission.in, until July 9, 2026. This release kicks off the crucial counselling registration process, which is set to begin on July 2, 2026, and will also conclude on July 9, 2026. These results are the sole gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), institutions declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Indian Parliament, dedicated to blending science education with cutting-edge research. From 2026 onwards, admissions to the popular 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree and other science programs at IISER are exclusively based on IAT scores, discontinuing previous channels like JEE Advanced. The IAT is renowned for its selectivity, boasting an acceptance rate comparable to JEE (Advanced), highlighting the intense competition for roughly 2,300 available seats. With scorecards now in hand, qualified candidates must prioritize registering for the online counselling process within the stipulated window. This involves submitting required details, uploading documents for verification, and crucially, 'choice filling' their preferred IISER and academic programs. The seat allotment process, which considers IAT rank, category, and filled preferences, will follow in multiple rounds, with early rounds expected in July. Missing the registration deadline will mean forfeiture of admission opportunities, making prompt action essential for all successful candidates.
