Indore University Waves 100% Tuition for Ex-Agniveers, Boosting Post-Service Education

Devi Ahilya University (DAVV) in Indore has made a landmark decision, announcing a full 100% tuition fee waiver for former Agniveers seeking higher education across nearly 200 courses. This move by the Madhya Pradesh government-run institution aims to significantly ease the transition for those who have completed their four years of service under the Agnipath scheme. The initiative directly addresses the critical post-service challenges faced by Agniveers, who often struggle to balance their military tenure with continued academic pursuits. While the Agnipath scheme, introduced in 2022, offers a 'Seva Nidhi' package upon completion, ensuring clear pathways for further education and civilian employment remains a key focus for the government. This waiver complements other efforts, such as the Ministry of Education collaboration with IGNOU for skill-based bachelor's degree and various state governments providing job reservations in entities like Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
