Over 300 school leaders from across Jammu and Kashmir recently gathered at the J&K Educational Conclave 2026 to figure out how to prepare students for a future shaped by Artificial Intelligence and fast-changing social realities. Organized by Infonet Technologies, the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir, and Education World, the event on July 25th in Srinagar brought together top minds to discuss big changes in learning. The discussions highlighted the urgent need to make education fit for the modern world, especially with India planning to introduce an AI curriculum from Class 3 in 2026-27. Speakers like Rouble Nagi, who recently won the Global Teacher Prize, stressed that technology should help, not replace, teachers, while focusing on student adaptability, creativity, and mental well-being. Government officials, including MLA Farooq Ahmed Shah and Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmed Wani, also spoke about improving school quality and increasing private-public partnerships, while major companies like Asian Paints, Sharp, and Axis Bank shared their initiatives to support education. The conclave is just the start, with organizers planning more workshops to keep school leaders updated on global education trends. This ongoing effort will focus on continuous learning and innovation to build an education system ready for tomorrow's challenges, especially in areas like mental health support and technology integration, which are increasingly important for young learners across the region.
