Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered security agencies to maintain a relentless offensive against terror modules and narco-terrorist networks, emphasizing tighter border controls and strong coordination. This directive came during a high-level security meeting on Friday, underscoring the administration's resolve to dismantle the entire ecosystem supporting militancy across the Union Territory. The renewed push follows significant security successes in 2026, including the killing of top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa in September and thousands of arrests related to terror and drug trafficking between April and September. Security forces have been actively targeting over-ground workers (OGWs) and financial conduits, with the 'Nasha Mukt Abhiyan' campaign also tackling the critical link between drugs and terror funding, often originating from across the border. These efforts aim to choke off logistical and financial support for terrorists, which has been a persistent challenge even after the 2019 abrogation of Article 370, which changed J&K's constitutional status. Looking ahead, the administration plans monthly reviews of properties attached from narco-terrorists and their support systems, while also focusing on monitoring anti-national elements within the government and countering radicalization. Security agencies will continue their multi-pronged operations, keeping high vigilance, especially as winter approaches, to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.
