Jagan Demands CBI Probe into Mega DSC Irregularities, Alleges Naidu Shielding Son

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has intensified his attack on the current government, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged widespread irregularities in the 2025 Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment. The YSRCP president specifically cited a case in Kurnool district where a Backward Class (BC) candidate allegedly secured a Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) post under the sports quota despite not clearing the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper-1A with the required marks. The allegations, made on September 4, 2026, directly target Education Minister Nara Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, whom Jagan accuses of attempting to shield his son and obstruct an independent inquiry. The Kurnool District Educational Officer (DEO) has already confirmed the specific irregularity involving Prabhakar Goud, who reportedly only scored 65 marks against a requirement of 75 in TET for an SGT position, initiating action against him. However, Jagan claims this is just one instance of broader misconduct across multiple districts, arguing that state officials under the current government cannot conduct an impartial investigation. Minister Lokesh, on the other hand, maintains the Mega DSC was conducted transparently and efficiently, challenging the opposition to a debate.
