In a fresh salvo, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has urgently appealed to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to investigate three Hyderabad-based aerospace and defence firms, alleging they are 'shell companies' posing a grave threat to national security. In a post on X today, KTR specifically named Tesseract Advanced Systems, Raghava Aerospace & Defence, and Aindri Defence Advisory, warning of dire consequences if such questionable entities are allowed to supply equipment to India's armed forces. These allegations aren't new; KTR previously flagged Tesseract Advanced Systems in August 2026 for an undervalued land allotment and questioned Raghava Aerospace & Defence in September. Aindri Defence, founded by a former Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) CMD, reportedly secured a Rs 56.8 crore single-tender contract for optical sights despite having minimal assets and a locked office. These concerns underscore a broader vulnerability in the defence procurement process, especially as India pushes for 'Make in India' initiatives, where the integrity of supplier firms is paramount. With KTR linking Tesseract to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy brother, Anumula Kondal Reddy, and Raghava Aerospace to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy family, the political stakes are incredibly high. The Union Defence Ministry is now under pressure to launch a thorough investigation, potentially involving central agencies, to verify these claims and safeguard the country's defence supply chain. The outcome will not only impact the reputation of Hyderabad as an emerging defence hub but also test the transparency and accountability of defence contracts under the current Congress government in Telangana.
