Madhya Pradesh is aggressively revamping its strategy for the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2027 in Bhopal, shifting its focus from raw land availability to showcasing advanced infrastructure, particularly the burgeoning textile and telecom sectors. This strategic pivot aims to leverage the state's significant projects, including the PM MITRA textile park in Dhar and Asia's first integrated Telecom Manufacturing Zone in Gwalior, to attract substantial domestic and international capital. The state's industrial development arm is currently engaged in intensive roadshows and investor meetings, including a crucial session in Mumbai on October 8, 2026, to solidify investment interest ahead of the summit. The state's PM MITRA Park, located in Dhar district, is already seeing construction activity, with 38 companies proposing investments exceeding ₹21,500 crore and targeting partial production by 2028. Simultaneously, the Gwalior Integrated Telecom Manufacturing Zone in Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Counter Magnet City (SADA) is set to become a major hub, having attracted proposals for approximately ₹5,500 crore in investment and projected to create over 18,000 direct jobs. This zone, backed by a July 2026 MoU between the Department of Telecommunications and the state government, is attracting significant interest, prompting plans for land expansion to meet investor demand. With Chief Minister Mohan Yadav having already extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for GIS 2027, the coming months will be critical for converting these robust investment proposals into tangible projects. The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is intensely focused on streamlining processes and offering incentives to ensure these ambitious plans translate into on-ground industrial activity and job creation. The goal is to build on the success of the previous GIS 2025, which secured an unprecedented ₹30.77 lakh crore in investment proposals, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh vision of becoming a leading industrial and innovation hub.
