MP's Mohan Yadav Pledges 2027 as 'Year of Youth' for Viksit Bharat Drive

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently declared 2027 as the 'Year of Youth' for the state, spotlighting an ambitious drive to engage 20 million young people in building a 'Viksit Bharat' or Developed India by 2047. The announcement came during the 'My Youth-My Pride Conclave 2026' in Indore, where Yadav underlined the state government's commitment to youth welfare, skill enhancement, and job creation. This move aims to convert young job-seekers into job-creators, a key strategy for the nation's progress. The initiative is set against a backdrop of increasing focus on youth participation in national development, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision for India. The state government is drafting a new youth policy, taking cues from the 'Madhya Pradesh Youth Resolution 2026' submitted by young participants at the conclave. Specific schemes include financial support for rural homestays, easier education loans for medical students, and incentives for industries creating jobs. Furthermore, the government is targeting nearly two lakh (200,000) government jobs by 2028, with a major recruitment push scheduled for 2027-28, along with plans for a dedicated 'Youth Budget'. Looking ahead, the state expects to unveil a dedicated Youth Budget, inviting suggestions from young people to shape future policies for employment generation and skill development. The upcoming Global Investors Summit in Bhopal in 2027 is also anticipated to create significant job opportunities, complementing the government's efforts to foster entrepreneurship and innovation. The success of these initiatives will be crucial in channeling the energy of Madhya Pradesh large youth population towards achieving the ambitious national goal.
