NASA has officially opened its first major new wind tunnel in over four decades, marking a critical leap forward for both aeronautics and space exploration. The state-of-the-art Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF) at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, began operations on July 31, 2026, and is designed to test everything from advanced aircraft to future spacecraft.
