The Hexagon World Series (HWS) has officially revealed the host cities for its inaugural global season in 2027, marking a big step for professional padel. Starting in Madrid, Spain, from January 21-24, the team-based circuit will then travel to North America in March and Scandinavia in June, before ending with a grand finale in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from October 21-24. This move transforms the former Hexagon Cup into an ambitious international league, a clear sign of padel's rapid global expansion. The launch comes as padel continues to surge in popularity, becoming one of the fastest-growing racket sports worldwide with over 40 million players in 2026. Governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP), HWS introduces a unique team format, featuring eight mixed-gender teams backed by famous personalities, setting it apart from the existing Premier Padel circuit which focuses on pairs. The competition will also use an exciting 'best of five Super Tie-Break' scoring system, designed to keep matches fast and engaging for fans. This strategic expansion shows a strong effort to boost padel's appeal and potentially pave the way for its inclusion in future Olympic Games. While the specific cities for the North American and Scandinavian stops are still under wraps, their upcoming announcement will complete the full 2027 calendar. Fans and players alike will be watching closely as HWS aims to attract a wider global audience and bring a new, dynamic team competition to the forefront of professional padel. This series, running alongside other major tours, highlights the sport's growing maturity and its exciting future on the international stage.
