A groundbreaking study published today in the European Heart Journal reveals that even small amounts of light during sleep can physically alter the heart. Researchers, led by Professor Lu Qi from Tulane University, found that exposure to more than three lux of nighttime light, roughly equivalent to moonlight, is linked to changes in the heart's shape and its ability to pump blood efficiently.
