UP T20 League Season 4 Kicks Off with Star-Studded Inauguration in Lucknow

The fourth season of the UP T20 League, a major Twenty20 cricket tournament, officially began with a grand opening ceremony in Lucknow on Friday, August 14, 2026. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla jointly inaugurated the league at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, setting the stage for 34 matches aimed at nurturing local cricketing talent across the state. This year marks a significant first for the league, as it will be hosted across two cities, Lucknow and Kanpur, enhancing its reach and impact. The league, envisioned by Rajeev Shukla, has rapidly become a crucial platform for young cricketers in Uttar Pradesh, acting as a stepping stone for many to enter the highly competitive Indian Premier League (IPL). With 18 players from the state featuring in the IPL this year alone, the UP T20 League plays a vital role in India's cricketing pipeline.
