Warframe is undergoing a significant overhaul to its core gameplay mechanics with developer Digital Extremes announcing the retirement of Riven Disposition and the introduction of a 75% cap on Ammo Efficiency. These major changes, set to roll out with a hotfix on Thursday, October 22, 2026, will standardize Riven mod values across all weapons and prevent the creation of permanent infinite ammo builds, fundamentally altering how players approach weapon customization and combat. The move comes after extensive internal discussions and community feedback, particularly regarding the power of Riven Splicer that led to widespread infinite ammo builds, which Digital Extremes felt encouraged automated gameplay and reduced build diversity. By fixing all Riven Disposition to an equivalent of 1.2, weaker or newer weapons will see a substantial boost to their Riven potential, while some previously dominant Incarnon Genesis weapons might experience a slight reduction in their Riven's effectiveness, aiming to rebalance the game's metagame. As players prepare for the hotfix, which has temporarily disabled Riven trading, Digital Extremes is offering compensation in the form of Built Forma and Kuva to ease the transition, with additional rewards for those who utilized Riven Splicer. This update marks one of the biggest changes to the Riven system since its 2016 introduction, and the Warframe community will be closely watching to see how these adjustments shape future gameplay strategies and weapon viability.
