Eight-Year Deadlock Ends: Kishau Hydropower Project Powers Ahead for Six States
After an eight-year standstill, the long-awaited 660 MW Kishau Multipurpose Hydroelectric Project is finally moving forward, with six partner states reaching a consensus to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Government. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has successfully renegotiated terms, ensuring the state will receive approximately Rs 600 crore annually in revenue without any financial investment, a significant shift from the earlier proposal requiring a substantial contribution.
